A Mormon from Salt Lake City, Utah, with four brothers and five sisters, Challenge newcomer Chet made quite an impression on The Real World: Brooklyn. Chet worked nonstop at pursuing his dream of becoming a VJ while in New York and landed an audition at MTV and a hosting gig at Pete Wentz's friendsorenemies.com. Recently, Chet has parlayed his quirky fashion sense into a line of bow ties. Will Chet's wholesome personality take him far in Thailand? Or will he be led into temptation (and defeat) by his more seasoned Challenge competitors?
Everyone already knows that Chet is the nice guy from Real World: Brooklyn, who couldn't hurt a fly, right? Well, think again. After being eliminated first on The Ruins, Chet has learned a valuable lesson, explaining, "I went out there and I was friends with everybody, but I've learned how the game goes and I'm ready to be a shady MF'er, just like everybody else." Full of surprises, Chet will find himself a little Challenge love! But will Chet be able to balance romance with his new cutthroat strategy? The answer will definitely shock you...
Battle of the Seasons (2012)
The self-proclaimed "oddballs" of Battle of the Seasons, Team Brooklyn combines political savvy with an uncanny ability to unite despite their rocky past. As Chet notes, "I can't say that I love every single person on my team, but I can go play these games and just leave that in the past until we win the money." Like teammates Chet and JD, Sarah is a Challenge veteran and hungry for a spot at the top of the podium, stressing, "This is Challenge #6 for me. Sure, I've made it to some finals, but I've never won. I just want to win." Sarah may have the strength and desire to propel her team to the Finals, but she risks losing her laser focus when she begins a romance with one of the toughest players in Challenge history. Brooklyn's wild card comes in the curvaceous form of rookie player Devyn, a former beauty queen who may be more concerned with her beloved $1,000 wigs than trips to the gym. Though she may wear dresses and heels around the house, Devyn is excited to rediscover her inner athlete, explaining, "They see this girlie girl, but I took flying lessons, wakeboarding lessons, skiing lessons!" Is Brooklyn's newfound unity strong enough to weather the storms of The Challenge? Or will this team crumble under pressure?
Bow tie aficionado Chet surprised everyone when he led his underdog team to a third-place finish on Battle of the Seasons. However, he feels he has what it takes to win the whole thing, "I didn't get gassed out on the last Challenge and I feel honestly had Devyn not been on my team at all, I would have smoked it." Chet may not be the most physically intimidating guy in the house, but makes up for it with intelligence, political savvy, and endurance. He promises, "I'm going to fight for every inch. I want this money. I want to steal it from other people. I feel there are a lot of people here who don't deserve it. And I will do whatever I can to make sure they don't get it." Will we see Chet in another final? Or will he flame out in a hurry?
Chet was rushed to the hospital after he suffered a concussion at the "Surf's Up" challenge. Prior to the "Sky Hook" challenge TJ delivered the news that Chet was medically prohibited from competing, and he was subsequently removed from the competition.
Chet withdrew from the "Balls In" elimination after he busted his chin open. TJ gave Chet the option to either continue the elimination round with a bandage, or get stitches and forfeit; Chet chose the latter option, fearing a bacterial infection.
